Tuesday, January 20, 2009 - This seems unusual for Beaucastel. It's lite with some red berry, italian spice and a touch of camphor. It is not unattractive at all right now; it just seems truncated. From the taste, look, and appearance of the wine I would say it has been heavily manipulated with fining and filtering. Like other wines so treated there's no there there. It lacks presence. Wine is unpredicatable so maybe it will surprise with time but as President Lindberg said: "I have a doubt."
