Thursday, July 8, 2021 - This wine puts a big smile on my face. It’s about all I want in a wine. Another restrained Oregon 2014. 12.9%. Day 1 had with grilled salmon and was a great match. Reductive earthy nose with light and dark red fruit. Palate was concentrated fruit with a bit of a savory streak. Balanced, smooth, great weight and mouthwatering acidity. No sign of tannins and the length lasted for minutes. A broad wine without being heavy.
Day 2 wo food and the savory went away and the fruit was more bright. Cran/orange, tart cherry and dark cherry. No reduction or savory notes. Tannins were drying but still had a long finish. Fantastic!
