Saturday, February 18, 2023 - A private dinner (Restaurant Taiko, Amsterdam, NL): Decanted at 7pm, served at 8.30pm. Two bottles with identical impressions. Initially discreet on the nose, needs time to open up. Concentrated and luxurious palate, and the considerable weight (14.5% ABV) is balanced by marvellous acidity which gives this big wine a sense of lightness, complex fruit flavours (citrus, peach, tropical fruit), deep minerality, excellent length. Great now, great future.
