Friday, November 29, 2019 - Post-Thanksgiving Lunch (Tilia, Mpls): Murky medium red color with modest maroonish tints. Splash double decanted; drank a glass over an hour. This was a great bottle, and like so many of these old Borgogno's, it needs air to really come to life. The nose was impressive from the start, but there was still a rather dramatic progression in glass. Earth, funk, leather, saddle, potpourri, rose hips, onion soup, brown sugar, and cherries on the nose. The beautifully perfumed nose is matched by an equally beguilling palate. Well integrated and silky, the palate is savory, floral, cherry fruit, onion broth, leather and polished sleek tannins. Loved it.
