93 Points

Friday, December 27, 2019 - A spectacular vin! We brought this single bottle beauty (wish we had CASES) back from the Romanian vineyard, Cramele Recas in Summer '18. Racked since.

Opened last night with friends in the industry (guess we really like them). We poured, it showed an excellent backbone and acid to hold up for years. We decanted and let it sit for a while.

Its nose, after some air was gorgeous. It developed into a smoky, dusty, tobacco, graphite – earthy rich dense vin. Yet its fruit held up, supported and still balanced in, offering one of the best, most integrated bottles we’re ever had.

Our friend in the industry, an importer (and fellow CT user), was all googlie-eyed. He said “95 pts on the nose and midpalate alone.”

Another vin offering true complexity; changing throughout the pour. It had a beautiful, lengthy finish which just left us longing for the next sip. It stayed with us long after the bottle was empty.

We’ll be talking about this one for a while. If this was for sale in the States, it’d likely go for $70-$90… And be worth it. It'll just keep getting better & better with rack time. SO WISH we had more.

Update Note: 2020/11/16 We found it at Drink Dispatch in MO. Bought 6 fof $39 per. So happy!!!

This vin is every bit as good, lush, big and complex as Penfolds' legendary (and one of our fav's) Bin 389...

Well, another trip to Europe must be in store!!!

(Yes, that's a Timisoreana bottle in the background of our pic. MORE YUM!!!)

Viata e buna!

Noroc!!!
