Saturday, July 8, 2023 - Bottle 18470, taken to a restaurant to celebrate my wife’s birthday. What can I say, it was an incredible bottle. Pretty open from the first pour with strawberry and beautiful nose of DRC stem and rose bush. High toned yet not in your face. Over time caramel notes. The finish was not the longest nor most powerful but at this stage it’s pure hedonism. Outperforms LT ‘06 we had last year but at this stage it’s a bit tightly coiled and LT ‘00 remains my benchmark for Pinot Noir. 97-98 drink now with brief time in the glass or hold for another 5 years.
