Drunk with a RMC 16. The LT was already drinking beautifully and at this stage was able to hold its own and more with the RMC which was unsurprisingly a little more restrained. Obviously just a point in time but both lovely and a privilege to drink

one of the best young burgundy I’ve tasted by a country mile. So generous and giving that you think it has ulterior motives. Everything you love about La Tache - that vivid pantry worth of spice, powerful saturation of berry, long deep finish. Just wrapped with a youthful sheen.

As many 2017 red Burgs, this is surprisingly open and ready. Silky soft tannins are not in the way of enjoyment. Lovely spice and hints of red roses I. The nose. Good length but still rather on the light side.

Bottle 18470, taken to a restaurant to celebrate my wife’s birthday. What can I say, it was an incredible bottle. Pretty open from the first pour with strawberry and beautiful nose of DRC stem and rose bush. High toned yet not in your face. Over time caramel notes. The finish was not the longest nor most powerful but at this stage it’s pure hedonism. Outperforms LT ‘06 we had last year but at this stage it’s a bit tightly coiled and LT ‘00 remains my benchmark for Pinot Noir. 97-98 drink now with brief time in the glass or hold for another 5 years.

Immediately expressive and giving. A beautiful nose of rose petals, raspberry, black cherry and Hoisin. The palate was so silky and voluminous. Fruit flavours are intense and it is light on its feet but possesses sneaky power. It builds then fans out and spice flavours linger. Great proportion and balance.
