Thursday, June 9, 2022 - Since my last tasting note, I have acquired a few more bottles but I can’t help but notice by the increase in the cost of this wine that others may have spotted how good this wine is. Anyway, I decided to try another bottle which I clearly shouldn’t have but to make matters worse I tasted it with three other wines namely Jadot Beze 05 and 06 and Chanson Beze 2012. Now it is hard to say a bad word about any of these wines as they are all a joy to drink. Interestingly I hadn’t intended to open the DL 16 but amongst friends I thought we ‘d just see if the DL was up to scratch. There is no denying it is still a dumb baby but goodness me it is a lovely wine. How good? I think in time this may be one of the best burgundies I have ever tasted. The 05 Beze is simply standard setting (and is a little more balanced and complete that the excellent 06). The chanson 12 is a very classy wine. If I was asked what I would drink again today - Chanson????? . Best wine in time - DL!!! With all that said, I wouldn’t throw any of these out of my glass👍
