Tuesday, October 24, 2023 - Opened in Tokyo. P&P and enjoyed slowly.

This was quite possibly the best bottle of Maréchale that I've had to date - I swear that the winemaking gets a little better every vintage. Classic Mugnier charm, clean and elegant and didn't really feel the rusticity that you might associate with Nuits. Lovely mix of red and darker fruits on the nose, silky smooth and balanced on the palate with a long finish - very pleasurable and exactly what I was looking for.

Will keep at this level, but also drinking well right now. Potential small upside as everything loosens up a bit more, but also wouldn't hesitate if you have the itch to try it.

Given the notes below, it seems there's a lot of bottle variation for this wine. I'm glad that I managed to strike a good bottle!
