Sunday, November 12, 2023 - On the nose, some black cherry, stewed plum, and a touch of menthol. There is a hint of dusty oak underneath.
On the palate, more black cherry and plum, some vanilla custard, and a bit of pepper. The tannins are fairly subdued and the finish is medium-long.
Overall, a good wine and a very good value for a Gran Reserva Rioja. There is still a good amount of primary fruit flavors -- the oak and the tertiary flavors have not taken over.
