Monday, October 18, 2021 - Gorgeous nose of hickory, sous bois, caramel, soy sauce, Worcestershire and a mocha note married to dark fruits. Powerful, almost lush mouthfeel but no loss of delineation or focus to the flavors or aromas. Certainly has the massiveness of Clos Vougeot with a very generous character today. Other bottles have shown less developed/opened out and perhaps more chunky and one dimensional. This bottle, however, I has come into its own and this wine is showing much more fine and put together. Dark, somber character still and going nowhere in a hurry. 94-95.
