Saturday, January 26, 2019 - New Year's resolution, drink more Portuguese. New World style/prices, Old World sensibility,

Nosel: Plush, aromatic, punchy. Dark black currant and plum skin, with a healthy dose of creamy, toasty oak. Underbelly of rustic bramble and cedar.

Pal: Full, but very well balanced. Med+ acidity and med+ grainy tannins hold the fruit together. Ripe blackberries, earthy spice and meatiness (syrah) and a rustic leathiness (PV). Full of energy. Not complex, but wonderfully drinkable.

Fin: Dark choc, wood and black olive tapenade.
