Sunday, April 10, 2022 - Off the list at La Cabotte, I very much liked the ‘11 of this wine though it had a hint of mercaptans and I guess it should not be a surprise then to also find them here in the ‘16. This off aroma, to my nose at least, thankfully blew off in ~20 minutes.

Nose - dark fruit, fig, stewed fruit, and some heat.
Mouth - intensely full fruited but very clean. Cathiard ripeness perhaps a bit overdone in this vintage, but there is excellent acidity. I think fans of ripe California pinots could get behind this wine. Of course I’m committing infanticide here so if you happen to be holding this keep doing so and let me know in 5 years what you think. For me Arnoux-Lachaux remains the Reignots benchmark.
