90 Points

Sunday, April 18, 2021 - (from memory) Mixed berry fruits and star anise on the nose, lush and fruit-forward on the palate with strawberry, raspberry, hints of forest floor, spice, mild tannins and medium acidity, finishes a little one-dimensional and dominated by red fruit

Note: my first Lamarche, and unless someone else is paying, don't think there will be a second, weight and style of a Russian River pinot but maybe less cola, and I don't think time is going to improve this Echezeaux, didn't perceive any unresolved structure or stuffing, given the low acidity, it might actually get worse, from what I've read, Lamarche is making efforts to improve quality, this may be a case of, "a camel is a horse designed by a committee," feels engineered
