Thursday, January 11, 2007 - Looks good coming out of the bottle. A nice purple/red hue. Swirling kind of creates a nice garnet color which surprised me with a Washington syrah. On the nose you get decent fruit but also some heat from the alcohol. No meat or bacon fat as you'd expect from a worthy WA syrah. Decent mouthfeel as you get a good amount of fruit forward wine, hardly any tannin to speak of. Pleasant but not complicated by any means. The finish ends in a blur. Good effort for $20/bottle but not the $30 I paid.
