90 Points

Tuesday, January 1, 2019 - 90m air and ate with a porkloin (with a cherry-thyme sauce). High acidity makes this an excellent food wine and this pairing was excellent.

Deep Ruby color. Aromas of cherry, chocolate, licorice and dust. (Assuming this was aged in oak as a result of those aromas, but I don't know for sure.)

Crisp on the palate right from the start, where citrus and rich red fruit jump out on entry. Velvety texture, medium-body. Good length, with a finish that is earthy, spicy and full of structured tannins. Perhaps a little hot, at 14.5% ABV, but overall a really lovely wine and a good value.
