Thursday, November 25, 2021 - Decanted 1 hour.....nose of green herbs, dandelions and very slight cherry. On the palate, more cherry, less green herbal character. Acidity is balanced, slight astringency present. Would have expected a smidgen more fruit given the great '16 vintage, and a little less greenery. At 1 hour, it's rather unremarkable at 89-90. We'll see what more time brings to it, as Thanksgiving Day wears on.....
Addendum: 2-3 hours in and the greenery on the nose decreases by 95% and of course, the fruit moves further to the front and deepens slightly. I'm upgrading the score from my original 89 to a 91. It doesn't improve any further from there, with more airtime, tonight.

11/26/2021 7:35:00 AM - Worryingly I have had a few ‘16s lately that are disappointing. I used to think of it as the ‘you can’t go wrong’ vintage on a restaurant menu but that hasn’t been working lately

2/3/2024 6:47:00 AM - Was planning on bypassing the 21 Outpost winter offer altogether, but then had a thought to just grab a few zins and grenache, which I haven’t had before. Thoughts? The CT reviews do not seem to be as enthusiastic as the pros

2/3/2024 7:01:00 AM - FB, I haven't had another bottle since this last one 3 years ago. Seems I've maybe lost my taste for Outpost? Too many price increases, too. I didn't order anything.
