Decanted 1 hour.....nose of green herbs, dandelions and very slight cherry. On the palate, more cherry, less green herbal character. Acidity is balanced, slight astringency present. Would have expected a smidgen more fruit given the great '16 vintage, and a little less greenery. At 1 hour, it's rather unremarkable at 89-90. We'll see what more time brings to it, as Thanksgiving Day wears on.....
Addendum: 2-3 hours in and the greenery on the nose decreases by 95% and of course, the fruit moves further to the front and deepens slightly. I'm upgrading the score from my original 89 to a 91. It doesn't improve any further from there, with more airtime, tonight.
Dried black cherry, strawberry jam and earth on the nose. There is a bit of alcohol on the nose that makes me mark this down a few points. The overall characters are there, but it's drinking hot and I am not sure that will continue to integrate. I am on some allergy meds, given the time of year, so I maybe a bit sensitive at this time. The mouthfeel is nice and round, the nose carrying through, but again, a bit of bite from the alcohol. I want to love this as there is quite a bit of stuffing to this Grenache, but it's got some sharp edges at the moment. Will try the next one in 8-12 months to see if things settle down. I welcome criticism. It really cut through the fat and salt on our corned beef tonight.

Powerful stuff that’s incredibly in balance. Thick, decadent mouthfeel. Clove and dried red berries on nose. Subdued red fruit, inky plum and strong black pepper, menthol, dried flowers, and cedar on initial pour which lingers for a minute. Will probably hold my other two until 2021-2023

Very nice bottle. This was served prior to a blind tasting of Rhône reds. Everyone liked this one.
