Sunday, January 21, 2024 - Strong leafy, earthy and spicy notes, nicely balanced with medium tannins right out of the bottle, but benefited from a short decanting and some glass time. Another reviewer mentions notes of green bell pepper which I also noticed and was happy when they mellowed as it breathed. wonder if this is related to destemming, crushing, using a perhaps less technology centric approach to wine making… The rustic quality of the wine was in the end quite endearing as it’s more delicate nature was revealed over time. This is one worth a repeat, a compare/contrast with a similar California Bordeaux blend, or even a vertical tasting as a previous reviewer experienced… good fun and thought provoking!
