If I was served this wine blind, I would call this an old world wine. Don't know if I would guess Nebb, but perhaps sangiovese. I'm always intrigued with the Napa Italian varieties, with Cimarossa Foglet being my first teeth cut on these wines. Lighter dirty red fruits, earthy candy crush. Some herbal influences for sure. Just a tiny hint of tobacco and red figs and this is to me where this wine takes a divergent turn from Italian Nebb for me. Finishes with some lighter white pepper. Definitely digging this one quite a bit. Wish it was available without having to beg, trade, or borrow. If I was independently wealthy I would probably stockpile this wine. Really impressive showing. And, as a 2014 this one has incredible structure that I would easily say you could lay these down another 5 years if you're just not in the mood. But, why would you do that when it is already doing this well?
