Thursday, December 2, 2021 - Regal. Something special. A burst of cherries on the nose with mild aromas of leather and spice ushers forth a plush, multi-layered experience. There were mild scents of unripe banana and flavors of vanilla that followed. Flavors of raisins also were apparent. The wine expressed mild to medium grip and a lingering finish that unfortunately left you wanting for more along with a little structure that seemed out of place for gamay. Very delicate and savory, but also a touch of boldness in there. About 2 hours after opening, the wine was accompanied by Chinese style roasted duck and roasted suckling pig. The duck melded beautifully with this wine!
