  • Decanted about 25 minutes. Clear medium ruby color. On the nose, black fruit, cedar, and some spice. On the palate, beautifully balanced black fruit and spice, with oak notes and a pleasant cherry on the finish. Really nice, and great price point. Perfect pairing with grilled salmon with a smokey-sweet dry rub.

  • All quite good, but definitely an oxidative nite on the palate which is not present on the nose

  • Fresh and dried cherries, raspberries, touch of vanilla and smoke from oak, some earthiness and forest floor. Developing. Nice balancing acidity to the fruit, medium alcohol, tannins fairly soft and fine now, medium finish. Very nice mature beaujolais, drinking well, with a few years ahead of it, but unlikely to improve.

  • As a 6 + year old Premier cru Beaujolais…. I was intrigued & this baby didn’t disappoint before during or after the meal. Ripe cherries, dust, raspberries & currant crème were delightful. Rich and medium bodied it is the top express of Gamay. A bit of mild caramelization with other bright berries and roundness of neutral French ok does ad a pastry touch of doughy vanilla. Held up to the grilled pork & wine spiked ratatouille in glorious fashion and well with the price point for the quality and texture. The mouth feel & length of finished Im proved with more time in the decanter. This producer also makes a morgan, & Fleurie… this is definitely a masculine wine would be interesting to compare the feminine. Nice effort

  • Regal. Something special. A burst of cherries on the nose with mild aromas of leather and spice ushers forth a plush, multi-layered experience. There were mild scents of unripe banana and flavors of vanilla that followed. Flavors of raisins also were apparent. The wine expressed mild to medium grip and a lingering finish that unfortunately left you wanting for more along with a little structure that seemed out of place for gamay. Very delicate and savory, but also a touch of boldness in there. About 2 hours after opening, the wine was accompanied by Chinese style roasted duck and roasted suckling pig. The duck melded beautifully with this wine!
