Tuesday, November 6, 2007 - Consumed at home with broiled tri-tip. The bottle was taken directly from the cellar, opened immediately and splash decanted. The wine was consumed and serially tasted over 90 minutes, with the first taste approximately 60 minutes after decanting. Opaque ruby in color, the wine shows a moderately intense nose of black currants, black cherries, vanilla, spice and licorice. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and ample ripe tannins. The flavors mirror the nose and lead to a medium, smooth finish. Very nice! This is a wine which is drinking nicely now and should do so for at least another decade.
