Sunday, May 17, 2020 - In general I have not been impressed by Natural wines in the past, but this is quite enjoyable. I prefer my Cab Franc’s aged and this wine is there.
Decanted 1-2 hrs. Initial nose was a tad funky/ animale, but that is expected from a 19 year old natural wine. Light ruby color and hints of brick on the outer ring. No pronounced nose or dominate aroma, except for a light smokiness....could be Coronavirus symptoms kicking in who knows! Maybe a little bell pepper. The palate receives a faint cherry flavor with slightly drying tannins and a wisp of acidic tinge on the finish, which is a good 15 sec. Overall, I am thrilled with this 19 year old naturally made Cab. Franc and will look for more C.& P. Breton wines.
