Wednesday, December 24, 2014 - Decanted for 30 minutes prior to drinking over the next 4 hrs. On the nose, there is a lot of fruit concentration that really reminded me of tasting Pinot Noir in New Zealand. Smells of cola, black tea, and cherries. On the palete, surprising amount of acidity and fruit concentration. A nice touch of bitterness on the finish. A bit of tannin left. Not entirely silky yet. Seems like it could last a few more years. 14.5 alcohol but it did not feel heavy. Nicely balanced wine that showed finesse overall but I did not get much in the way of secondary flavors, length, or complexity.
