Tasted April 32, 2006 at WineDrinkerofTexas’ home. Opened and decanted roughly 2-3 hours before serving in a house Cabernet Sauvignon glass. Dark purple to crimson color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black berries, coffee, a touch of blueberry and a little caramel. Subdued nose from what I was expecting, still a little on the closed side. Flavors of black currants, black licorice, cherries and a touch of mocha. Firm tannins, good balance overall. I don’t think this wine is quite awake yet. I’d recommend holding for at least another 6 months to a year before popping another one. Value is recommended. Definitely some wiggle room here to further improve.
