Wine has decent balance you could argue... huge amount of oak at present slightly exceeds the fruit intensity which is quite high, tannins balance the intensity/ETOH reasonably well, good length, great intensity, ok complexity. Wine has very little finesse, a lush texture, and is a little over oaked to show much sense of place. I agree with babnik below completely... I can see how this style of wine is popular, but it lacks some key elements of quality in my opinion. Good wine.
