Saturday, April 7, 2018 - Wow! Here's an amazing example of where the general bottling of an estate wine just might eclipse the "reserve". Perfect storage from this bottle bought on release revealed a pristine cork which revealed an eruption of aromas. Seductive notes of bing cherry, raspberry, and dark fruit and not a touch of earthiness in this 16-year-old. On the palate perfectly resolved tannins, a touch of acidity but well-rounded dark berry fruit, a touch of butterscotch and caramel and a long lingering finish. I wish i had more of this wine—oh wait—cellartracker shows I do have one more bottle. Hmmm…tomorrow?
