Sunday, September 15, 2019 - Big mountain Cabernet with blue - black berry fruit, graphite and grippy ripe tannins. Finishes with a bit of heat, so drink on the cool side. Still very primary after 18 years, this will have a long life. Not showing any signs of age in the color either. Not sure this will ever soften and improve adding complexity as it’s so big in fruit and tannin. Probably best with a big piece of grilled beef.

On the third night open this wine finally softened and filled in showing juicy blackberry fruit, a bit of mocha, softish ripe tannins and no sign of heat. Delicious.
