Thursday, January 15, 2009 - Served with Italian style lamb shanks with orange & olive. We gave this about 45 min decant and it smelled wonderful right off the get go -tons of red and black pit fruit and very smooth & velvety. More structure & nuance came forth with time and there was a nice chocolate /coffee hint to compliment the meat & earthy tones -there are plenty of soft tannins on the finish which became more and more pronounced towards the end of the bottle several hours later. Tasty.
