Tuesday, March 7, 2023 - Not going to formally rate this as cork was compromised. From the time I got this a few years ago I have noted the capsule gradually expanding, though not at a rapid rate. When I removed it to inspect in 3/2023, there was clear but very mild seepage from one area of the cork. Nonetheless the wine apparently held up well without overt oxidation or over-maturation. An excellent auslese regardless. Without the cork compromise it would have been 91 points as it is drinking now. I realize these German rieslings are often absolute tanks with ability to withstand all kinds of environmental abuse, but nonetheless this one drnk great on opening and over the next 5 days.
