Saturday, March 9, 2013 - top shoulder fill; decanted for 1 hour. tasted blind.
nose - mushroom, shoe (inside), funk, truffle. per Brian bacon, per Duane second day bacon, per lisa earthy, per brian cordite, per mario roasted chile.
mouth - dull fruit, slightly bitter, lots of complex tertiary flavors. In my eyes an interesting and complex wine. per mario 'this has seen better days'. a wine that not everyone will like, or at least this bottling. I guessed a '96 Bordeaux. Mario called it oxidative and I objected at first, but I think later I came around to seeing what he was talking about. However paired great with the pork shoulder.
