Wednesday, January 9, 2008 - sfwine Port Tasting: Ruby, Tawny, Colheita, White, Vintage: Prune-y black fruit dominated nose, with cooked fruit aromas and some brambly berry notes. Quite sweet on the palate with extreme tarry, scorched flavor, chocolate, fruitcake flavors, but also some nice freshs berry flavors as well. Some zingy acidity, but given the lack of structure it's not really enough for the late-harvest sweetness here. For a sweet wine, the length is disappointingly flash-in-the-pan.
