This has been sitting in my rack for a couple of years. After trying the 2018 and not being so thrilled with it, I thought I better open this to compare.

The 2015 was a different animal altogether. Where the 2018 felt tired already, with raisin-y flavors on the finish, the 2015 was fresh with a nice grip. Aromatically, it was certainly old world with a mix of red fruits, but also cassis and plum with a good dose of leather and forest undergrowth. On the palate there was a lovely herbal quality; very mint-like and with a bit of espresso. The finish was rather short, but altogether a nice wine, especially for the price ~$25 (but this was a gift from friends)

I wasn’t home for dinner for a few nights, so I sealed this with a Vacuvin and refrigerated it. Even so, on the 21st the wine had that unpleasant mushroomy oxidized flavor, so I would drink soon-ish rather than holding for much longer.
