Wednesday, March 6, 2024 - After a one hour decant, I found this wine to be very approachable with a beautiful bouquet in the glass, a solid core of sour cherry fruit, a classic yet modern version of Brunello due to the fruit concentration. I’m used to Il Poggione being built in a more rustic style so this bottle surprised me tonight. Maybe vintage dependent? Nevertheless, I really enjoyed it.
