Friday, April 3, 2015 - The 2005 Clos St. Jacques from Armand Rousseau is still a very young wine, but its benchmark quality is clear. Stunning aromas of strawberry, raspberry, blood orange, peony, sous bois, woodsmoke, cedarwood and coco powder burst from the glass. On the palate, the wine is strikingly complete and multidimensional, with crystalline purity and a beautifully balanced marriage of breadth and brightness and an endless finish. If it were not for the wine's ineffable balance one might be tempted to call it decadent, but its poise is too perfect for that. A great Clos St. Jacques.
