Saturday, August 31, 2013 - At Mario and Maryanne's end of Summer wine party. Drank this after a Radio Coteau Savoy Pinot and before a Clio - good contrast in styles and all great wines.

Opened and decanted about 90 minutes before leaving, poured back into the bottle. Was open about 2 1/2 hours before we drank which I think it needs to really unwind. Would not drink this wine without a healthy decant.

Color was deep red/purple, not showing any age, edges red. Nose was rich dark fruits, cherry, currants, plum, graphite. Palate the same, with cassis, chocolate. Finish is fantastic, 30 seconds

Not heavy but a rich and full wine, manages to be a big fruit forward wine with good structure. Classic To-Kalon...Drinking very well now, but still youthful. Will be interesting to see how this does over next decade
