Sunday, February 4, 2024 - Flaccianello in general is one of my favorite wines and in my view one of the best expressions of Sangiovese. I Last tried one of these 2016s two years ago and although younger I liked it better. I wonder if this has shut down for a while now. I slow ox’d for about five hours and then decanted for two. Still very tannic, medium acidity, black fruit, some mint and oak with a long finish, but less complex than the last bottle and somehow not as well balanced. I will wait another couple years at least before trying the next bottle.
