Monday, March 20, 2006 - A full bodied wine, with prominent jammy, blackberry and plum fruit, buried under some powdery, astringent and chalky tannins. Seems fairly light on acid with an unbalanced fruit/tannin mix, and subtle oak. A mixed bag, yet it may improve with another 2-3 years in the bottle. Hard to believe the chalkiness will subside enough to call this a really good wine. I feel the WS69 was somewhat unfair, but it's definitely not a $60 wine! Drink it with smoky BBQ...
