Saturday, April 29, 2006 - This Christian Moueix charmer is highly rated by Clive Coates, who considers it among the top 2nd-tier wines of Pomerol. The 2000 is a splendid example, with a lot of classic attributes. Inviting nose of lead pencil, currants, leather, and cedar. Very pretty in the mouth, certainly much more about elegance and finesse than power. Round and supple. May be better in a few years, but delicious drinking right now. I was really enjoying it until I got the lamb chops off the grill at which point, fuggedaboutit! Paid around $30 for a half dozen bottles at auction, and I'm very happy.
