Friday, May 4, 2012 - PnP. Still a dark ruby core, but with substantial bricking toward the slightly tawny rim. On the nose AND the palate, this thing is all over the place. At first, the nose and palate are almost Burgundian, very feminine, with subtle elegance. Somewhere between the 10 and 15 minute mark in the glass, all sorts of goodness breaks loose - sour milk, fresh cow pie, cherry skin, fresh cut violet, cinnamon stick. A few more minutes and fig shows itself, followed by notes of prune, sawdust, red licorice. Silky tannins, medium body. Just gorgeous, and all of it in a slim, lifted mold with only 13% abv. Highly enjoyable, full of nuance and character. Beginning to fade a bit. Drink thru 2016
