Friday, February 4, 2022 - Confirm previous contributions that Pino is heading to a new level with this vintage. Has always been a good performer, with a clear Cabernet Franc mark.
The 2016 - after a two hour decant - comes soft on the nose, CF signature of gooseberries clearly shows. Alcohol is present.
Mouth similarly smooth. More mellow and accessible than its age would indicate, with mild acidity telling it is still young. Lingers mid-long.
Overall a well-crafted package. Somewhere between 91 and 92, but fine to move to 92 now as it already shows so much maturity. Can go higher if alcohol integrates well over time.
