A rich reddish black color. On the nose, dark red and black fruit notes, graphite and scorched earth. Ripe but not jammy. On the palate, this had great energy across rich and dark berry fruit driven flavors, lifting acidity and still quite biting but balanced tannin structure. A slightly spicy and almost electric finish that lingers on the palate. Good concentration. Still very young but excellent to drink now if desired. Excellent.

Made from a younger vines of Biserno. A blend of 52% CF, 30% Merlot, 15% PV and 3% CS. Aged partly in new and second-fill FR oak and reminder in stainless steel. Deep ruby colour, garnet hue. Pronounced, deep and complex aroma of Mediterranean herbs, cassis, black olives, liquorice, plums, tobacco, earth, eucalyptus, graphite, leather. Medium body, rich and silky yet fresh and nicely restrained, with herbal infused black fruits, elegant texture, lively acidity and fine tannins.

Archétype du vin moderne, parfaitement vinifié, extrait, poli, fruité et juteux. J'aime bien...de temps à autres. A boire sur les 2-3 prochaines années.

Confirm previous contributions that Pino is heading to a new level with this vintage. Has always been a good performer, with a clear Cabernet Franc mark. The 2016 - after a two hour decant - comes soft on the nose, CF signature of gooseberries clearly shows. Alcohol is present. Mouth similarly smooth. More mellow and accessible than its age would indicate, with mild acidity telling it is still young. Lingers mid-long. Overall a well-crafted package. Somewhere between 91 and 92, but fine to move to 92 now as it already shows so much maturity. Can go higher if alcohol integrates well over time.

A revelation. Stands up well to many of the big name Super-Tuscans. Dark cherry fruit, rich mouthfeel and depth, long finish. Bought on the recommendation of one of my favorite wine shops and glad I did.
