Wednesday, December 30, 2020 - Volnay/ Pommard (Mostly) Blind Tasting (Northside of Chicago): Double blind alongside '02 Champans. Red and black cherry from beginning to end with spice, floral and earthy charm in wonderful proportion. Lush and clearly rich without being too ripe, this is a perfect expression of the 2002 vintage. Good+ weight, very good length and finesse. Great now, with even further possible upside. My 2nd favorite wine tonight, tied for group's favorite.
