Saturday, January 23, 2021 - Sourced from multiple vineyards primarily within Green Valley, Dutton Goldfield's 2017 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay was 100% barrel fermented, allowed to undergo complete malolactic fermentation and aged for 10 months in French oak barriques (40% new). Despite the wine's vinification profile, it is a nicely balanced, freshly acidic offering that delivers a crisp package of citrus, stone fruits, white flowers, ginger, vanilla and baked apples. Light golden, medium-bodied and with well-integrated alcohol (13.5%), it weaves in a judicious amount of toasted oak and stays solid on the mid-palate. Medium-to-long and vibrant on the back end, this is a quality New World Chardonnay that should be at its best over the next three years. Drink now-2024.
