  • Another random Costco purchase. Totally mediocre if that. I hoped a RR chard would have more. Uneventful over two days.

  • Sourced from multiple vineyards primarily within Green Valley, Dutton Goldfield's 2017 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay was 100% barrel fermented, allowed to undergo complete malolactic fermentation and aged for 10 months in French oak barriques (40% new). Despite the wine's vinification profile, it is a nicely balanced, freshly acidic offering that delivers a crisp package of citrus, stone fruits, white flowers, ginger, vanilla and baked apples. Light golden, medium-bodied and with well-integrated alcohol (13.5%), it weaves in a judicious amount of toasted oak and stays solid on the mid-palate. Medium-to-long and vibrant on the back end, this is a quality New World Chardonnay that should be at its best over the next three years. Drink now-2024.

  • Bartlett pear and heavy cream dominate the nose and palate, with hints of citrus and medium-light acid flittering in the background. While well-made, this is a bit one-note and heavy-handed.

  • Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, lemons/limes & a touch of grapefruit with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals, spices, some butterscotch & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium body with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, lemons/limes & grapefruit with minerals, spices, some honey & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Appears to be accessible in its youth although it may develop further with additional aging. Great value when found at discount!

  • Light oak. Not buttery. Light lemon curd & honey flavors. Slightly sweet lemon good with meals. $28 at Costco, not worth $40 that is charged at other places
