Wednesday, February 3, 2021 - This medium ruby wine was uncorked, poured and serially tasted over the ensuing 2-3 hours. After the first hour, it fully opens to reveal an aromatic array of Montmorency cherries, red currants, baking spices, smoke and orange zest. Medium-bodied, tart, softly oaked and with unnoticeable alcohol (listed as 12.5%), it delivers flavors that mirror the nose, wrapping them with lightweight tannins that carry just enough grip to keep things interesting. Solid on the mid-palate and medium in length on the back end, this is a delightful Pinot that (for anything from Burgundy) performs well above its pay grade. It should be at its best over the next 3-4 years. Drink now-2025.
