Saturday, March 18, 2023 - 91-92 Serious value here. Organic viticulture in the high hills of Ventoux. Mainly Syrah (the key to my enjoyment) and minority Grenache from old vines at high altitude (250-350msl).

Inviting brooding nose of dark cherry, raspberry coulis, whole black pepper, dried sage. Full body on pal but with restrain and structure. The Syrah gives more gruff, savoury notes. Garrigue, fresh tree bark and a concentrated dark fruit component - plum flesh. Real lift to the acidity, ut married very well with the fruit concentration (doesn't stick out). A lesson in how to do full bodied well.

We got through countless bottles of Ventoux in '21 when we were in the Luberon. Exciting to see where the appellation goes.
