NV Jacques Selosse Initial

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Wednesday, December 28, 2016 - Drunk over dinner with friends, together with Jacquesson 739 and Chartogne-Taillet Brut 2008. My first Selosse, from memory.
This is even more expressive and powerful on the nose, not fully on the oxidative side, but the apples are more prominent.
More body and intensity and complexity on the palate, supported by lively acidity. It worked for me. It went very well with pasta with broccoli and salsiccia, with grated pecorino cheese and black pepper on top - surprisingly it wasn't at all overwhelmed by the strong flavors of the pasta. I wouldn't drink this as aperitif, but I think it can work very well in pairings with a variety of different foods.
