Friday, May 24, 2019 - Champagne tasting. No scores but ranked from best to worst.
1. 2000 Dom Perignon P2 - blind. classic big house prestige cuvee style. High class, but a bit generic - didnt guess Dom P.
2. Selosse Initial (deg09) - another beautiful initial, this time with almost 10 years post-deg aging which it carries effortlessly. However, some thinning in flavour. Maybe not one to save much longer.
3. 2004 Cristal - still very youthful, but has substance.
4. 2008 Dom Perignon - surprisingly accessible already!
4. 1998 Veuve Clicquot Grande Dame - deliciously mature, but on the 6. downslope - DRINK NOW
2008 Veuve Clicquot Grande Dame - very young, but accessible to some degree.
7. 2006 Taittinger Comtes - much too young, should be stored.
7. 2011 Pierre Peters Chetillons - young and rather anonymous
9. Krug Grande Cuvee (deg2003) - poorly stored
10. Ulysse Collin Rose (12 base. 18deg) - very young and complete lack of complexity.
11. 2009 Pierre Paillard Les Mottelletes - easy drinking and good value, but a tad too sweet.
12. Grande Siecle (fra start 2000'er) - Cork tainted
